Planet Skincare, the company that brought you the Botox alternative containing Syn-ake, has launched a new anti-aging product including the skin tightening ingredient Pepha-Tight.Planet Skincare has launched its Instant Firming Serum, which, thanks to the inclusion of the ingredient, smoothes skin lines and wrinkles. In terms of beauty effects, many have regarded the products as the newest rivals of Botox. The serum is mainly composed of Pepha-Tight, an algae-based skin tightener. Aside from tightening the skin, Pepha-Tight extends the serums effect by building collagen-1, which smoothens skin lines and wrinkles to allow for more radiant skin. Not only that, Pepha-Tight also gives the skin added protection against oxidative stress. While Pepha-Tight is the serums main ingredient, it also has three other ingredients: (1) Aloveria, which is known to soften skin with vitamins and minerals (2) Pentacare-NA, which smoothens skin lines and wrinkles; and (3) Idinyl LS, an Indian plant known for it protective qualities for sensitive skin.In-vivo tests carried out on 20 volunteers using a gel containing a 5 per cent dose of the ingredient showed that it enhanced skin tightening by 120 per cent, when compared to a placebo. The latest addition to Planet Skincares range complements its Anti-Ageing Moisturiser the famed Botox alternative, this is basically synthetic snake venom. Syn-ake is engineered to simulate actual snake venom for the use of anti-aging treatments. It reduces muscle cell contractions that cause wrinkles to smoothen, just like Botox. However, this product is applied without a syringe. The active ingredient in that product is Syn-ake, which is based on a synthetic tripeptide that mimics the effect of wagerlin1, a peptide that is found in the venom of the Temple Viper snake. The clinical trials have bought back amazing results. The smoothening effects of the products were apparent in 80 percent of the volunteers, while the anti-wrinkle effect was seen in 73 percent of the volunteers. These results were measured in a 28-day trial period.Unlike Botox, Planet Skincare products allow for more facial movement. Dr. Aamer Khan, medical director of the Harley Street Medical Skin Clinic, said, This could work for somebody who doesnt want injections.
