Get fit, healthy and sun-kissed at boutique Bootcamp in Cyprus

| September 30, 2010

As temperatures start to plummet, you could be excused for slipping into an early SAD induced coma. But help is at hand in the form of some winter sun that not only promises to top up Vitamin D levels, but will combat sluggish winter blues by whipping you into shape whilst topping up your tan. We’re not talking bunk beds and buffet slop, but 5* boutique Bootcamp bliss, with a little tummy toning thrown in on the side!

Research demonstrates that exercising outside can burn up to 30 per cent more calories than doing the same workout indoors – a statistic that makes venturing away from the gym a tempting prospect. Couple this with further research that shows people who exercise in the morning are 75% more likely to still be exercising a year later, and you have the perfect excuse to re-invigorate your workout. Then thrown in the motivation of a sunbed, a pina colada and a sun-kissed pool attendant and you have all the incentive you need to sign up to a Cyprus Bootcamp, where the motto of the ‘holiday’ is train hard in the morning, play hard in the afternoon.

Janey Holliday, Director of Fit For A Princess, the original gym alternative for women comments: “Following the huge success of our UK Bootcamps, we felt this was the natural next step to motivate our clients.

We offer workouts all year round, rain or shine, but for those that just can’t face the thought of hitting their local common at 6am on a frosty autumn morning this overseas Bootcamp is the perfect alternative. Even more appealing than this promise of winter sun, is that unlike other residential bootcamps, both home and away, we won’t charge you through the nose for the privilege. As with all our FFAP classes, we’re providing a cost effective fitness solution that’s over 500 cheaper than like for like offerings! Forget Wales, drizzle and barking drill sergeants and think beach, sunshine and motivational workouts with a cocktail thrown in at the end!”

Janey and the original FFAP London team will be leading the Cyprus Bootcamp which runs from Saturday 16th October to Saturday 23rd October at the 5* Coral beach hotel (where the Olympic teams trained and stayed before Athens!). Back to back workouts will run from 6.30am to 1pm and clients can come to as little or as many as they like! There will also be morning golfing activities arranged for those who’d like to bring male partners, and the hotel has a fantastic kids club if you wanted to turn it into a family break. The afternoon is free for sunbathing, spa treatments, or use any of the fabulous 5* resorts facilities. There are also additional pre-dinner workout between 5.30pm and 6.45pm.

Facilities include an Olympic-size pool, a fabulous sandy beach situated just 20m from hotel, water sports, tennis courts, cycle and running tracks and bike hire, plus a variety of spa treatments and restaurants and shops situated close by.

Janey launched the first FFAP outdoor exercise class on Wandsworth Common in April 2006. Her motivation was her own hatred of gyms and bad experiences of formulaic exercises classes that didn’t provide results. FFAP was born out of her philosophy of taking a measured approach to sensible eating and exercise designed around the female body. All FFAP workouts are designed to push those who want to be pushed to the max and support those who want to take it at their own level. The aim is to empower women, whatever their age, ability, size or shape to improve their health, happiness and wellbeing with effective training, showing them that anything is possible with the right approach and giving them sensible lifestyle advice too.
