The over-50s are fuelling a boom in cosmetic surgery holidays, as the number of older women having a trip/tuck has doubled.Euromedica Cosmetic Surgery, who specialise in accompanied cosmetic surgery trips to Poland, has revealed that nearly 60 per cent of its patients are over 50, up 30 per cent from last year despite the economic downturn, with facelifts and tummy tucks among the most popular ops.Alina Deeble, founder of Euromedica Cosmetic Surgery, says: ‘Older women have many reasons for wanting to look younger and are prepared to spend cash theyve been putting aside to get the face and the body they want. The number of cosmetic procedures for our 45-65 age group has doubled in the last 12 months, and I think its a trend thats set to continue. Often these women have more disposable income and are motivated by a need to look the best they can, whatever their circumstances: it may be they are already in a senior position at work, opting for a second career or, more often than not, about to embark on a second marriage. In addition to the surgery, the older woman is also looking for some quality downtime, a chance to stay out of the limelight while they recover. As well as offering ground-breaking technology and an expert surgery team, we also provide an opportunity for them to mix with like-minded people, says Alina, who accompanies each plastic surgery party from the UK to Wroclaw, in South-West Poland.A lot of our patients really bond during their trip, supporting one another through the surgery and, afterwards, soaking up the atmosphere of a lovely, bustling old city. Some lasting friendships have been forged over the years and the same people come back year, after year. Its like the perfect Saga holiday but with a difference! The cost of any Euromedica Cosmetic Surgery treatment includes pre-operative medical tests, daily medical care; 10-12 days stay in Recuperation Centre with all meals. Spa and cosmetic dentistry treatments are optional; there is also a full social programme on offer, including trips to the theatre and opera, from 15.
